The Most Efficient Way To Farm Renown In Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fire Emblem Three Houses is one of my most favorite games of all time but when I started my second playthrough, I was fed-up with the amount of renown that I had. After a single playthrough, I only had enough renown to do a handful of upgrades and there was a lot that I couldn’t get, meaning that I had to do a lot of extra grinding during my second playthrough. I wasn’t happy about doing it again.

So I did some research and found that there’s a glitch that gives you unlimited renown. Here’s how the glitch works. You need to already have a lot of renown because of you spend at least 65,536 renown on items at the altar in Abyss, the cost resets to 0. For example if you buy 65,600 worth of items, you’re only spending 64 renown. You then sell those items in the marketplace for gold.

All the guides tell you to use that new gold to buy one and two star seeds because of how cheap they are and then you sell them at the altar for renown. As a result, you have more renown than you started with and you keep doing this until you have all the renown you could ever want. But buying one and two star seeds is actually the least efficient way to do this as you’ll gain much more by buying the more expensive seeds in addition to the one and two star ones.

Since you’ll be spending more coins per seed, the renown return will be less. But you’ll also be clearing out your gold faster and as a result, each trip will be faster. Because of this, you can do more trips in less amount of time and earn more renown than if you were doing high return trips that take a long time to complete. I did a few test runs myself and the results were impressive.

In a single 10 minute session doing one and two star seeds, you’ll get around 10,000 renown profit, or around 1,000 per minute. If you buy all the seeds, you earn around 7,000 renown but a trip lasts around 6 minutes. This means you would average around 14,000 in 12 minutes or close to 1,200 per minute.
