The more I try to tell you about this game, the less you’ll believe me that it actually exists. Date Everything is a game that allows you to date everything and it’s incredibly ambitious. What makes this game even more special is that it’s the debut title from Sassy Chap Games, spearheaded by professional voice actors.
It’s part visual novel, part romance simulator, and all chaos. I’ve known about the game for a few months, but I always thought it was too ridiculous to be real. Yet here we are, playing what could end up being one of the best indie games of 2025.
When the game first begins, you’re a new customer service hire at a large corporation. Unfortunately you don’t even make it ten minutes into your first shift before your AI overlord deems your job obsolete. Moments later, you’re gifted a special pair of glasses that allow you to interact with common household objects and furniture.
When you’re wearing the glasses, each object takes on a human appearance and is fully voiced by one of many voice actors. In total there are a hundred characters and a ton of dialogue options. You can interact with each character once per day and your choices dictate whether you become friends, enemies, or lovers.
All characters are wildly different from one another in terms of their writing, personality, and humor. One moment you’re flirting with your bed and the next moment you’re talking about extreme sports with your coat hangers.
The writing is both clever and absurd, and you can build each relationship however you want. That means there’s enough content to film multiple novels and keep you busy for dozens of hours. But it’s not all silliness and humor, every character has their own thing going on. There’s a lot of lore, character growth, and motion as well.

Other than the fantastic writing and humor, there were two additional aspects that I really enjoyed. They were the art style and the voice acting.
When it comes to the overall art, the environment isn’t anything special but the character designs and portraits were amazing. Each object has a human model and you can tell how much effort went into designing them.
The voice acting is another fantastic aspect of the game because of both the quantity and quality. Nearly every character is voiced by a different actor and they all do their roles perfectly. It becomes obvious early on that the team took great pride in how dialogue and voice heavy this game is.
After all, the core development team is composed of professional actors. They’ve appeared in projects like Fire Emblem, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Demon Slayer, among many other games and anime. They know what they’re doing and it shows.
Once I was five hours into the game, I had to take a look at the cast list and I was surprised by how many recognizable names were on the list. Knowing that some of my favorite actors like Erica Mendez and Adam McArthur were in it made me even more eager to play more and date everything.
This game is an unexpected hit that’s crafted with love. There’s hundreds of interactions and a ton of solid writing. It’s perfect for romance fans but because of how different it is from the average romance visual novel, most gamers will enjoy it as well.
