As is the case with all gacha games, Umamusume: Pretty Derby has many different options when it comes to currency. There’s carats, SP, monies, and other types. In this little guide, we’re going to talk about the most important one, monies.
You might be wondering why I’m calling them most important. It’s because they are. Carats are important because they’re the only one that allows you to pull character and support cards. SP are important because you need them for upgrading support cards.
But monies are used for a lot of different things. You need SP AND monies to upgrade the support cards, not just SP. You need monies to upgrade potential. You also need monies to buy stuff from the daily shop. If you sacrifice all your money raising potential, you won’t be able to upgrade support cards. If you buy everything each time a daily sale starts, you won’t be able to do much else.
That’s why monies are the most important, but they’re also not that common. Here are the two best ways to gain monies.
The obvious answer is playing a career. Some races will get you a decent amount of monies but you also get a big bonus at the end depending on how many fans you finish with. Winning the URA Finale and doing a handful of extra races can net you an extra 6,000-10,000 monies.
It’s very easy to do a run where you alternate between spamming races and training. Once you’re out of TP, you can use one Toughness 30 or 10 carats to restore enough TP to do another career. Spending carats on careers isn’t ideal but as a last resort, you can spend 40 carats to get around 50,000 monies in an hour.
The second big option is to do daily races. The only problem here is that they’re now limited to three per day and you have to choose if you want to race for monies or SP. You can’t do the, three times each. These races are quick and you can make another 10,000-20,000 monies for just a few minutes of work. Do this every day and your bank account will slowly build up.
There are a few more ways to earn monies but they are not efficient and should only be used as a last resort. You can exchange Club Points at a rate of 1,500 monies for every 50 Club Points. But you can only do this 30 times per month and it’s not a good move if you aren’t earning Club Points quickly or want to use them for other stuff.
You can also exchange Clovers at a rate of 30 Clovers for 5,000 monies. This is a good exchange rate but large amounts of clovers will be hard for casual players to acquire quickly. These last two methods aren’t great but if you need an extra 10,000-20,000 monies quickly, these will be handy exchanges if you don’t have the time for a career.
