Hogtie is a simple game that doesn’t have much to talk about. But if you enjoy puzzles, this game will be right up your alley. That’s because the puzzles are pretty creative and engaging for a game that only costs $12.99.
You play as a farmer who’s tasked with lassoing pigs and dragging them to a specific point. It sounds simple enough but the length of the rope and other obstacles and some level of difficulty to where and how you’re able to move.
At first, I thought the puzzles were a bit too easy. Many of the early levels only took a few seconds to beat and were even a little bit boring. But after a dozen or so levels, a bunch of new mechanics and obstacles were added in, which made the levels more fun and harder.
In total, there are more than 100 levels to go through across three distinct biomes. You can collect up to three stars each level depending on how many turns you need to complete the level. Getting as many stars as possible unlocks additional levels as well as a bunch of fun cosmetics.
Hogtie is no different than your average mobile game. Heck, it’s even available on Steam for only $5. But it makes for a solid puzzle experience because of how many levels there are and how difficult the levels can get later on. I won’t say it’s a game that you should go out of your way to play, but you’ll; get some enjoyment out of it if you like puzzles.
