Earlier this week, Nintendo released their latest financial report. It includes a ton of interesting info like console sales, game sales, and overall revenue. There’s a lot of cool info in the report, but the one that I was the most interested in was their projections for the future.
During their previous financial report, Nintendo predicted that they would sell a total of 15 million Switch 2 consoles during the current fiscal year. That’s a bold prediction since the fiscal year will end on March 31, 2026. Nintendo expected to sell 15 million units during the Switch 2’s first 10 months on the market.
But with their newest report, Nintendo drastically increased their prediction. With five months remaining, Nintendo now believes that they will sell 19 million units by the end of March, an increase of nearly 27% than what was previously expected. Of course the actual numbers can fluctuate by the time March arrives, but this is huge and implies that the Switch 2 can sell more than 20 million units during its first year on the market.
