Five Roguelike Games That Came Out In 2025 That You Should Play

I’ve been playing a lot of roguelike games over the past few months after finally getting into Vampire Survivors and that got me into looking at other roguelike and roguelite games. Then I fell in the rabbit hole and discovered games that I never even knew about and I wanted toi compile a list of some of the best ones from 2025 that you might want to check out.

1. Megabonk

Megabonk brought a silly, survivors-style roguelite experience with fun 3D action. Its dynamic weapon systems and frenetic enemy waves offered a fresh spin on the auto-shooter formula One of 2025’s best games overall and you can read my full review here.

2. Hades II

Hades II finally arrived in full and expanded the world of the Underworld while building on the critically acclaimed combat and narrative of the original game. The game blends fast-paced action with deep character progression and interesting storytelling. Fans of Greek myth and the original game will have a blast.

3. Ball x Pit

Ball x Pit delivers a unique mash-up of physics and roguelike progression. Instead of traditional combat, players bounce balls to defeat enemies across dynamic arenas, then use resources to improve a growing city. The game’s charming pixel art and inventive mechanics make each session feel fresh while offering a ton of depth for those looking for the extra content.

4. Desecrators

Desecrators  came out in early 2025 and is a unique title. Mystery and mayhem collide in a game where, you pilot a hovercraft through procedurally generated space environments. There’s so many weapons, enemies, and loot that make each run feel like a hectic space heist. It’s also a very retro inspired game, which is something I liked.

5. Desktop Survivors 98

The ratings on its Steam page should be enough to convince you. The price should too as it’s only $4.99. Your cursor is the hero and there’s no game. You’re literally just playing on your actual desktop. Retro visuals and a quirky gameplay mechanic.
